Set in a 1,200 acre township development in Nusajaya, Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club offers an exclusive 18-hole international standard golf course designed by Australian golf architect Ross Watson. Designed on 200 acres of naturally undulating green, Watson applied the “Risk Reward” design principle to the course, being in tune with Mother Nature, and preserving the land’s natural terrain with lots of waterways.
A challenging golf course, many holes feature dramatic changes in elevations from tee to green. The island green at hole 17 especially tests players intelligence, accuracy and skill while hole 4 and 16 present opportunities for long hits. The golf course at Horizon Hills also has many unique features including classical bunkering with sweeping sand faces. Waterfalls, ponds and lakes also appear throughout the course, posing intriguing challenges for different experience levels.
The greens are carpeted with Tifeagle, developed exclusively for putting greens in tropical locations, ensuring that putting is smooth and consistent, and the tees, fairways and roughs are planted with Seashore Paspalum for a nice ‘ball sit’.
Horizon Hills has received many awards since its development in 2008. Tee Times has ranked it as one of the Top 3 Golf Courses in Malaysia; The Star newspaper has called it the Most Memorable Golf Course for 2010; it has hosted the 2010 Iskandar Johor Open; and CNBC Property Awards has given it a 5-star rating for Best Golf Development in Asia Pacific and Malaysia in 2009.
