The Sabah Golf & Country Club is located along Jalan Kolam, nestled in a residential area, and a 10 minutes drive from the city centre. One of the oldest golf courses in the state, the Sabah Golf & Country Club opened for play in 1976. The traditional inland golf course was originally designed by Robert Muir Graves and was remodeled by Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects in 2004.
The 18-hole par-72 course features various challenges for players with its generally hilly terrain, undulating fairways, greenery, water hazards and bunkers. Though it may be a comfortable start, as the game progresses, its difficulty level does so as well. The most difficult hole on the course may be found at hole 14 par-5. ‘The Monster’ is a narrow uphill strip which spans over 500 yards with water hazards posing risks in front.
The Sabah Golf & Country Club has previously hosted the Sabah Master (Asian PGA Tour), Sabah Amateur Open as well as the World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Tournament amongst other tournaments. More Information
